Ok so I love me some events, I love me events with free food even more though!!! Today was Multicultural Day in Notre Dame. So a bunch of people made food etc to represent heir country/continent etc. Unfortunately I wasn’t involved because I have a block of five hours straight lectures when they were doing this event!
Anyway because I have the best lecturer EVER!! She let us go 10 minutes early so we could experience multicultural day so yay!! It was amazing! There was a Europe stand, an American stand Australian, Asia you get the picture! The food was glorious!! Now I may or may not have only went for all the sweet stuff… in my defence all the proper food was meat i.e. hot dogs or kangaroo meat so….. yea
OMG I LOVE PUPPY CHOW!!! I know you are all definitely giving the screen weird eyes right now so stay with me here! Puppy chow is just yummy scrumptious goodness!! Now I have seen recipes for puppy chow on pintrest but always dismissed them thinking it was weird posh dog food right??? Never have I been so wrong >.< I do not know exactly what this was made off but it was peanut buttery chocolate crunchy goodness!! I am definitely looking up those recipes later!! Puppy chow is an American invention just in case you are wondering!
The Australian stand had kangaroo meat and hot dogs as well as this yummy coconut cake thing that I need the recipe to stat! There was also an apple/pineapple pie thing with like meringue on the top?? And of course ANZAC biscuits ❤ That was also yummy! We had non alcoholic sangria at the Europe stand. I may have been too late to this stand as everything was pretty much gone by the time I got there so I am none the wiser of European delicacies. We had fortune cookies too!! Mine says “Your winsome smile will be your sure protection” I had no clue what winsome means so we googled and it means attractive… Guess there goes my protection 😛
There was also traditional music from Africa and was just a super good atmosphere and I wholly enjoyed my ten minutes of cultural food experiences! Which of course was made all the sweeter as I would not have got to enjoy it if it wasn’t for the awesome study abroad community that they have here and of course my awesome lecturer for letting us go early to experience it!! As you can guess I only have a short time to write this(I am on a break between classes) so apologies for any confusion that may occur I am unable to read over it before posting. I am also avoiding doing essay research! So quick typing means I can pretend I am doing something productive when I am really not but hey no judging!! It is also a really hot day today so I have taken shelter in the air-conditioned library so quick typing will suggest I am doing work to the other people 😛 Only kidding I frequently type my blog in the library hello free wifi anyone?? Until then au revoir mes amis tis time for me to go to class but it is on entertainment in Roman times so it should be a good ‘un.
P.s. If anyone who reads knows what this coconut cake or apple pie thing is please feel free to send me a link to a recipe or something. Even just telling me the name of such a delicacy would be greatly appreciated!! I would be eternally grateful ❤ (also any yummy puppy chow recipes!!)
